This series of reflections will tie in particularly well with work on plants and the environment. Children will benefit from a simple understanding of how plants grow and the changes that occur in flowering plants in particular. Some gentle classical music would provide an appropriate background for the suggested PowerPoint presentations - Flowers 1 and Flowers 2 - and may help focus children's thoughts during times of togetherness. You will need a children's Bible for the parables of the Mustard Seed and the Sower (both from Matthew 13). |

| Encourage children to think of ways they can behave and act that show their beauty. A flower has it comparatively easy! It only has to be looked at for its beauty to be seen. Our behaviour and actions often provide the image or impression that people remember about us, so we need to act in a way that allows them to see our specialness rather than something more ordinary or unattractive. |

Help me, Lord, to share the beauty I have inside me. My smile can change how someone else feels; my friendship can turn someone's bad day into a good one. Father, I am always changing, help me to show my beauty and strengths each day. Amen. |
