DRAWING CHURCHES FROM MEMORY

Prepare line drawings of a church (downloadable from this site), one for each group of four and a large version. Place the large version away from the children / behind a screen.

- Put the class into groups of four.

- Tell them they are going to create a picture together.

- Tell them that each person is going to have a few seconds to look at a picture. Then everyone will return to the group and draw as much as they can for one minute.

- After one minute the next person will have a chance to see the picture, and so on.

- At the end of the activity, give each group a copy of the picture. How will did they do? Ask them to give themselves a mark out of ten. How could they do better next time?

Two suitable line drawings are provided (88Kb PDF file) for this activity, one outside and one inside a church.
