Head's Office:

Governors.

Governors can take an active role in promoting Religious Education in schools by:

- Visiting the school when RE teaching and learning is taking place.

- Familiarising themselves with the local agreed syllabus requirements e.g. through the local governor training programme.

- Supporting visits to places of worship e.g. by accompanying children on a visit.

- Liaising with the subject co-ordinator about staff training, resources, timings, SEN provision, assessment and recording and visits.

- Keeping parents informed about RE through the annual parents report and meetings.

- Discussing any issues that arise in relation to RE with the headteacher.
